 You can eat raw or cooked onions to help reduce congestion. You need to be careful with pickled onions they can have the opposite effect. You can also rub them on an insect bite or minor inflammation just cut the onion and use a slice which according to doctors will help. Whether you are eating for taste or good health you can add Scallions, shallots, and other vegetables. They contain the same sulfur compounds and flavonoids as the onion.
