How to stay safe from the Swine Flu

The swine flu has erupted and is a very dangerous virus in the United States from time to time.  Here are some tips on how to protect yourself and your family.
The swine flu is similar to the influenza virus.  It is a repertory disease of pigs which has now spread to people.  It is a very infectious disease, in which symptoms include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite, headache, difficulty breathing, runny nose, sore throat, coughing, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and cold sweats.

First and foremost, one of the most important things to do is wash your hands!!

According to a recent Mayo Clinic study on weight loss, participants who received cash incentives were more likely to stick with the weight-loss program and lost more weight than participants who received no incentives. Find your incentive when you bet on your weight loss with a HealthyWager from HealthyWage.

Wash your hands for at least twenty seconds in warm, soapy water.  Cover your cough and sneezes and especially wash your hands after this.  If you are having flu-like symptoms stay home from school and work.  If you feel like you want to stay in bed, stay  do not try to be tough.

You need to be aware of what's going on and be prepared.  Importantly, do not panic, especially because most individuals end up being just fine.  You must listen carefully and stay calm and take direction calmly.

All the hype will just cause unneeded anxiety and stress.  Also remember, if you feel sick, call the doctor or ER, do not go there.  This will prevent spreading of the flu.  However, do not call just in case to get a prescription.  Some simple tips: Do not drink from water fountains and do not share drinks.  This is not only good for swine flu, but other illnesses as well.  Proper hygiene is essential.
Other ways to protect yourself from the swine flu are as follows.  Avoid non-essential trips to Mexico.  Monitor local situations and the health news.  Follow public health guidelines.  Keep up proper hygiene and wash your hands.  Masks protect others if you have symptoms, which is a good idea for families.  The N95 mask protects yourself from others. You should not touch your eyes, mouth, and nose.  Cover your mouth and nose into your elbow or shoulder if you sneeze and or cough.  Last but not lease, avoid contact with sick people.

You can treat and cure hiccups and get rid of hiccups

We all have had them and sometimes its funny and sometimes irritating. Hiccups are the result of when the vagus nerve and the abdomen are irritated. The hiccup is then processed and we let out the hic sound. Most doctors say that the hiccup is a reaction or disturbance in the digestive area. Here are some ideas that you can do to prevent and get rid of hiccups.

The first thing to do is try and stimulate the vagus nerve with a new sensation. One method you might try is eating something sweet. You can try and put some sugar on the back of your tongue this could overload the nerve and stop the hiccup. You can also try and put your fingers in your ears. Rotate you fingers in the ear gently this can help relieve the symptoms. Another thing you can try is have someone scare you this has been around for some time and might work. When someone surprises you this can overwhelm the vagus nerve and stop the hiccups.

Try and drink a glass of water and then gargle this will help stop them. You can try and tickle the roof of your mouth with a cotton cue tip and pinch your nose when done holding your breath can stop the hiccups. You can breath into a paper bag which will increase your carbon dioxide which will stop the hiccups. If you notice you have them after eating try taking an antacid that contains magnesium.  When it comes to eating you need to slow down and chew your food. Gulping down food is well known for causing hiccups. Eating to much is also know to cause them.

You need to avoid spicy foods they can irritate the lining of the food pipe and the stomach and set off a bout of hiccups. Try and drink only in moderation ,when you drink alcohol too fast it can irritate the esophagus and bring on a set of hics. The stomach becomes irritated from the big gulps resulting in hiccups. Most bouts will last no more then an hour. If you are experiencing more then this and the home remedies don't work it is time to consult with a doctor. The doctor might prescribe an antacid to help relieve them.

By the end of this year, it is estimated that up to 30% of children in the US may have contracted swine flu. Yet a shortage of reliable information about the virus has left many parents anxious and confused. This clear and concise book presents the key facts about swine flu, and explains in plain and simple English what every parent needs to know about the virus.
