  The only way to keep from getting a cold or flu is to isolate yourself for human beings. Don't touch runny nose children or be around someone who sneezes. Tea contains theophylline which breaks up congestion and quercetin which helps viruses from multiplying. Home made chicken soup not canned helps prevent cold and flu systems.
 In research it was shown that it was able to prevent white blood vessels from causing inflammation in airways. Make sure the broth is not made from bouillon or it won't work per the research studies.
