Factors that affect blood
pressure
It isn’t a secret for anyone
that lifestyle is for sure one of the most factor that affect blood
pressure. And this includes alimentary habits, physical exercises and
stress.
Foods rich in fat and sugar contribute to elevate the blood pressure. Salt
also plays a major role in it. Since the fat and sugar accumulate in the
blood, the heart has to work more in order to pump the blood and eliminate
it. This elevates the blood pressure. |

The lack of physical exercises also contributes to elevate the blood
pressure. If you don’t practice physical exercises, the chance of being
overweight is bigger and this also contributes to elevate the blood
pressure.
And the last factor of the daily life that contributes to elevate the
blood pressure has to do with stress. It is another factor that may
elevate in a significant way the blood pressure.
However, there are some things you can do – and you should do – in order
to prevent high blood pressure.
A good blood pressure means
the systolic should be lower than 120 mmHg and the diastolic should be
lower than 80 mmHg. And it is read "120 over 80".
If the systolic is between 120 - 139 and the diastolic is between 80 - 89,
the person is placed in the "Prehypertension" category. This situation is
not a reason to become desperate. It only means you have to take good care
of their blood pressure and keep your checkups more frequent.
On the hand, if someone has the systolic between 140 - 159 and the
diastolic between 90 - 99, this person is placed in the category called
"Hypertension stage 1". This is case to worry. You have to take extra care
and talk to your doctor about a diet or medications.
However, if you have the systolic higher than 160 and the diastolic higher
than 100, you are placed in the "Hypertension stage 2". This is a reason
to get really worried. In this situation, you have to combine medications,
diet, physical exercises and a radical change in your lifestyle.
High blood pressure is a
silent disease that affects one in three adults only in United States and
most of them don’t even imagine they have high blood pressure. And this is
where the danger of this disease lies.
